Chapters 25-28 Summary
Bond realizes the man who took interest in him while boarding the train must be reinforcements that M decided to send despite Bond's refusal of help. To prove this fact, the man joins Bond in the corridor and uses the pass phrases that all British agents use to recognize one another. Bond welcomes the man on the train even though he gets the feeling the man is not mentally competent. The man is clumsy and awkward when Bond introduces him to Tatiana. While they are in the stateroom, the man shows Bond a headline from the paper that shows that an explosion took out the Russian offices in Istanbul, reminding Bond of the bomb that Kerim showed him in the rat tunnel.
