Chapters 23-24 Summary

The next morning, Bond feels more relaxed since the two Russians are gone. Bond and Tatiana go to have lunch with Kerim. Kerim does not trust Tatiana and Tatiana feels as though he does not like her. However, at lunch Kerim warms up to her. Bond is tired, so Tatiana makes an excuse to take him back to the room so he can nap. Afterward, they make love. When Bond meets Kerim out in the corridor a while later, Kerim tries to talk Bond into leaving the train. Kerim feels as though there is a plot against Bond and that he may be in danger. However, Bond refuses to leave.

Bond spends the night again standing guard over Tatiana. In the morning, Bond is informed that something bad has happened. Bond goes to Kerim's stateroom and finds him dead. Kerim has...
