Chapters 20-22 Summary
Bond returns to his hotel and has a bath, then stands at his open window naked, enjoying the cool night. A voice behind him causes Bond to turn and he finds Tatiana in his bed, naked. They speak for a few minutes and Bond finds Tatiana to be innocent and seductive. Bond asks about the machine, but Tatiana is offended by Bond's turn to business right away. Bond soothes her, and Tatiana assures him that she will steal the machine in the morning and they can leave the following evening. Bond tells her that he has arranged plane tickets and passports. Tatiana refuses to take a plane, telling Bond she thinks the Orient Express will be safer. Bond agrees with some hesitation.
