From Here To Eternity: Traveling The World To Find The Good Death is divided into eight chapters bookended by an introduction and an epilogue. Sections are of varying lengths, ranging between just over 15 pages at the shortest and just under 40 pages at the longest. The structure of the book is organized according to place and place therefore serves as the main organizing principle for the book. As such, each chapter is titled with the location in which it occurs. The exceptions to this rule are the introduction and the epilogue which provide more general and overarching reflections and arguments related to the book's theme and the author's desired reader takeaway. Not counting the introduction and epilogue, the first and last chapters are both set in the United States.
