Summary

Chapter 30, “Who Forgot the Pawpaw?” begins as Martha greets them all outside her hut. Shrub is still unable to speak, but Ardent explains he choked on soot. Anya tells Hedric she is to alert the Responsible Robbers, and tells Hedric to spread the message that “Anya the Frogkisser requests your aid against Duke Rikard” and “all friends of the All-Encompassing Bill of Rights and Wrongs” should gather at Martha’s hut (314-15). Martha starts cooking the potion. Ardent sniffs some of the frogs in the sack and says they are transformed humans, and Anya wonders if all the frogs are transformed people, as they were all in the Grey Mist’s pond, next to her gloating chair.
