Summary

Chapter 11, “Exeunt, Pursued by Weaselfolk,” begins with Ardent waking Anya up because he can smell weasels. Bert explains they are weasels turned into human soldiers, and soon they hear screeches. Bert ushers her away, and tells her Shrub will show them the way to his father the ex-druid, and if she is delayed do not go to Rolanstown but instead head towards the Good Wizard. Anya, Shrub, and Ardent race through the darkness, following Shrub. After a few hours, they near the ex-druid, though Ardent is momentarily distracted by a rabbit he chases off. Anya realizes the ham is gone and everyone starts to worry about food. They keep walking towards Shrub’s father until Shrub points to a chestnut tree and taps on the trunk.
