Summary

“How to Sell a Jacket As Told By IceKing” returns to the coat store in Prominent Mall from “Friday Black.” Presumably, the same narrator describes how he steadily became the best salesman at the store and how the district manager buys him pizza whenever he visits. The second-best salesperson at the store is a young woman named Florence, who was pregnant when she was first hired. The story jumps back and forth from establishing these past events to the present, in which IceKing uses subtle manipulation to convince a family to buy coats. Just as he is about to take the family to the register to pay, Florence swoops in to tell him to go on break, meaning she will get credit for the sale.
