Summary
The next section returns to Ashughara’s narration, and Ashughara describes how Ada met her husband, Ewan. Ewan is a tennis-player from Ireland at Ada’s university, whom Ada met before Ashughara took over Ada’s body. After meeting Ewan at a party and kissing him, Ada wrote in her diary that she is “returning to sanity… to the real world,” telling Ewan he “made [her] feel so alive and so right” (98). Ewan disappears for a few semesters, but then returns when Ashughara has taken over Ada. Ashughara decides to leave Ada and Ewan alone, for Ada and Ewan do not kiss. Ashughara says that Ewan is “different… not someone [she] needed to hunt. He meant [Ada] no harm” (101).
Eventually, Ewan tells Ada he has a girlfriend, saying if he cheated on his girlfriend with Ada, he would “care too much” for...
