Summary
Chapter 90 picks up in June 1998 from Philippe's perspective. Philippe realizes that he enjoys riding his motorcycle with no destination in mind. He hates making a trip to a specific place. He has also lost the drive to find out the truth about Leonine now that Violette knows and it is no longer a secret. He has come to see this as a “wild goose chase.” Eloise is waiting for Philippe outside the movie theater where she works. Eloise describes the children's arrival. The 24 girls were happy during their first afternoon. Eloise says the chateau needed a lot of work that was not being done. At 9:45, Lucie and Eloise checked all the girls' rooms.
