Summary

Chapter 38 drops back in time to 1992. Violette, Leonine, and Philippe return from Marseilles. Philippe continues to ride his motorcycle and see other girls. Violette is happy he is only a small part of her life. Violette and Leonine return to their routines and often look at their vacation photos. Leonine begins school. Violette looks forward to Christmas knowing that Leonine will soon stop believing in Father Christmas. Violette often talks with Stephanie, the clerk at the nearby store, who suggests new products Violette should try. Celia and Violette write often and talk on the phone.
