Chapter 2 Summary

Marv sits by the heart-shaped bed, holding Goldie's hand. He promises her that he'll take revenge on whoever killed her. Meanwhile, the police march up the stairs toward the room. Marv knows that the cops are corrupt, and they obey whomever pays them. He's convinced that someone's paid well to frame him for murder. As the police approach, Marv pops a pill from a prescription drug bottle. Then, he hears them knock on the door and order him to open it.

Marv breaks down the hotel room door, knocking the police out of his way. They shoot him in the shoulder, but it doesn't stop him. Marv jumps over a stair railing, falling past more gunfire. He catches onto one of the stair railings, all the time taking more gunshot wounds. He pulls himself up and over the railing, and then he exists...
