Summary
In Part 4, Chapter 1, Daiyu finds Nelson in his hotel room and tells him “I decided to stay” (255). She wants to join his effort to sue Rock Springs, and volunteers to write a letter in Chinese characters to the Chinese Six Companies.
In Part 4, Chapter 2, Nam, Lum, Nelson, and Daiyu celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival by eating, drinking, and setting off fireworks.
In Part 4, Chapter 3, Daiyu “hears the banging first” (263). Sheriff Bates a group of armed men enter the store, and announce that they “are under arrest for the murder of Daniel M. Foster,” the owner of the rival convenience store (264).
