Summary
Chapter Fifteen is titled “The Game of Nothing,” and is narrated in the first-person voice of Nanapush. Nanapush and Margaret are both observers as Fleur starts to make her presence known and felt in the community. He describes what she is doing as the way of all the Pillagers, of getting what they want by doing nothing. He also describes how Lulu comes by to visit, but always times her arrival to coincide with points in the day at which Fleur is away. Meanwhile, he and Margaret watch as Fleur makes regular, daily trips to the land office, and eventually finds out that what was once her land is now owned by a white man named Jewett Tatro, who had obtained it illegally.
