Part Two: Jamilla: Chapters 48 - 56 Summary
Alex cashes in frequent flier miles to go and see the wife of a man who had been convicted of murdering a gay couple. Mrs. Etra is suing the army for wrongful death. When Alex gets there, she also has a lawyer with her, having sold her story to Hollywood. The entertainment lawyer stays only long enough to ensure Alex isn't a threat. Alex asks to see Lieutenant Colonel Etra's things and comes across a straw doll that is an exact duplicate of the creepy straw doll they had seen in Ellis Cooper's home. In another drawer, he finds another artifact seen at Coopers - a lidless eye. Mrs. Etra is positive that neither of these items belonged to her husband. She lets Alex take them both.
