The Merchant Princes Summary

The leader of the foundation, Jorane Sutt meets with the Master Trader Hober Mallow. Sutt says they are coming to another Seldon crisis and the likelihood is it will be a nuclear war. Their most dangerous enemy is the Korellian Republic and in recent months, three traders have disappeared whilst flying through the area. Not only are these disappearances unexplained, but also the ships were armed with nuclear devices. Furthermore, the Korellian Republic has not shown any interest in the Foundation's ability to provide them with the nuclear power and this could mean they arming themselves privately. Sutt asks Mallow to go to the planet as a trader, but with his eyes wide open. Mallow agrees.
