(pg. 66) From Da Nang, Lewis is transferred to his unit Lewis makes a brief stop at division where he gets a final opportunity to frequent the officer's club bar and then he goes on to regimental headquarters, where he runs into Ken Shelleman, his Basic School friend with the red convertible. Even in Vietnam Lewis runs into his father's legacy, and as a fresh, green young officer, he hardly feels up to the comparison.
