Summary

Ten days later, Katherine gets the same flu and her parents take turns staying home with her. Michael is well enough to come over that weekend and Katherine wears a hat to conceal her greasy hair. Katherine waits until her birthday the following Friday to tell Michael about the Pill. At her birthday dinner, Michael gives her a necklace with the inscription Katherine on one side and Forever...Michael on the other. Katherine loves it and almost cries.

Later, she tells Michael to guess what she’s got and he jokingly says a VD. She says not unless he gave it to her and he says not a chance. They laugh and she tells him about the Pill.
