Summary
In Chapter 6, Fife continues his recollections. He was scheduled to travel from Virginia to Vermont in order to finalize the purchase of a house there for himself and Alicia. The house would be aid for with money from Alicia’s trust fund, which was money given to her by her parents. Fife recalled the initial dislike and distrust that Alicia’s parents had for him, but that they gradually warmed to him as he demonstrated himself as a hard-worker who was not simply courting Alicia for her family’s money. However, Fife never truly warmed to Alicia’s parents. Fife departed to go to the airport, where he would board a flight to Boston and then drive from Boston to Vermont.
