Chapter 16 Summary
Chapter 16 - At his wedding, Parry releases innumerable souls to Heaven that have served their time. Parry even sings a hymn to God. Parry also knows he will be in limbo, forever linked to Hell. The new replacement to Parry comes to him, seeking the spell to destroy demons. Parry refuses because the new Evil Incarnate is a child rapist and has more interest in torture and destruction than in running Hell. Niobe and the other Incarnations plead with Parry to resume his post following his successor's failed trial period. Parry outsmarts the trial Satan and returns to his post as the Incarnation of Evil.
Jolie's spirit comes back to Parry in the end, using Gaea's body to make love with him, though Gaea herself can never consummate the marriage to Parry.
