The Fluffs of Dust
The fluffs of dust symbolize the fleeting nature of childish pleasures. Throughout the story, the boy remarks on his love for his flying carpet. However, near the end of the story, the boy disregards the carpet and dust piles up on it, showing that he has gone from loving the carpet to neglecting it over a few months.
