Los Angeles
Most of the novel takes place in Los Angeles, which is the most populous city in the state of California. Jason Taverner resides in Los Angeles and hosts a show that is taped in a studio in the city. After Jason wakes up to find that no one remembers him, and that all evidence of his existence has vanished, he moves about the city and attempts to avoid encounters with the police.
Central Police Office
Because the novel often focuses on the perspective of Police General Felix Buckman, many scenes in the novel take place in Los Angeles’ central police office, which is where Buckman’s office is located. There, Buckman performs such activities as directing the investigation into Jason, interviewing Jason, and eventually framing Jason for murder.
