Summary

In Chapter 7, after dinner, Fortney and Leeds headed to the bar on Shelter Island. They immediately spotted Blaze, remembering her from the week prior. She was talking to Simon and Miles again, which they found "unnatural" (112). Fortney "worked his way through the drinkers" so he could eavesdrop on her conversation with Miles (113). He listened as they made plans to meet the following Wednesday.

Blaze visited Ambrose. She gave Ambrose a massage, while relaying the evening. Meanwhile, her tape recorder was recording the conversation.

Dawn "wanted to go to Blaze's apartment and sleep," but needed more work first (123). She arranged a meeting with a man named Rudolph at Blaze's apartment. Afterwards, Rudolph called Oliver and gave him the address Dawn had given him.
