Point of View
The perspective is an alternating one in "Flipped," switching back and forth between Juli Baker's point of view and that of Bryce Loski. The book is set up with a structure that has one chapter describing an event or experience by Bryce. The chapter that immediately follows that chapter is one that describes the same event but this time written from Juli's point of view. This method is an effective way to gain the true feelings of each character and demonstrate how the same incident can be viewed quite differently by different people. All the chapters are written in the first person narrative which enables the reader to understand the opinions and reactions of both characters.
