Chapter 9: Looming Large and Smelly Summary
At breakfast the next morning, Patsy insisted on everyone eating together. She announced that she was going to invite the Bakers over for dinner. Grandpa was for it but Lynetta and Rick were totally against it. Of course, Bryce was worried that the "eggs" incident would surface at the dinner party. He confessed the whole thing to his mother. She said she would keep quiet about it as long as she could be sure he learned his lesson about being honest. He assured her he had. The Bakers were coming at 6 pm that Friday.
Juli was still stand-offish at school. One evening doing homework in his room he took the newspaper article out of his drawer and looked at the picture of Juli up in the sycamore. He accidentally left the article in his folder...
