Summary

Toby thinks about his and Rachel’s religious differences. They are both of Jewish heritage, but Rachel had never formally practiced Judaism, whereas Toby had attended synagogue regularly. Rachel attended synagogue with Toby after they began dating. He proposed marriage about a year after they began dating. After Toby and Rachel separated, Toby talked to Hannah and Solly to comfort them, and they did not seem to disturbed or traumatized by the separation. When Toby began going on dates via the dating app, he was hesitant to have sex with the women, and he was also struck by how eager the women were to talk about the hardships and tribulations they had experienced in life. Many of the women he dated were divorced. After Toby, Seth, and Rachel have their reunion dinner, Toby and Seth begin regularly spending time together. Seth has never married...
