Summary
Triple Sided Coin – Ally and Travis visit a collectibles store, where Travis gets the better of a crooked dealer who was trying to get the better of him. During their conversation, the idea of something being more valuable because it’s flawed comes up, and Ally comments in narration on how unlikely this seems. Travis, meanwhile, buys a pair of coins from 1933, the year that his and Ally’s grandfather was born. Outside, after Ally thanks him for the coin, he reminds her that “when people have low expectations of you, you can sometimes use it to your advantage” (34). He then reminds her to not have low expectations of herself, something that Ally says, in narration, is hard for her to do.
