Summary

In Chapter 14, Evie wakes up early thinking about James and Lucca’s visit. She turns on the news and learns that the couple died in an accident on their way home the night prior. When Ryan hears, he insists on going to see James’s family. Evie reluctantly agrees to join. Once there, they talk to the cops about what happened and their night with the couple. They do not think that Lucca was drunk driving, but Evie knows James and Lucca were both upset when they left their house. While Ryan talks to James’s family, Evie snoops through Lucca’s papers and discovers the assignment Mr. Smith gave her to collect information on Evie.
