Summary

In Chapter 1, Evie Porter starts to settle into her life with Ryan Summer. One night, they have Ryan’s childhood friends over for dinner. Evie knows they suspect her because she and Ryan have not been dating long and their relationship is moving fast. She answers their questions carefully, but without revealing the truth about herself. She and Ryan explain that they met when Ryan helped Evie fix a flat tire. In reality, Evie intentionally popped her tire to lure Ryan to her. She was watching him for some time before orchestrating their meeting. After the friends leave, Ryan invites Evie to move in with him.
