Chapters 13 & 14 Summary
Lily pounds on Scout's door for what feels like hours before she finally answers. Scout is angry that Lily is wasting her time with the brat pack, and clearly afraid that Lily is freaked out about the magic - she fears Lily has ditched her to hang out with "normal" teenagers - a problem that has plagued Scout her whole life. She demonstrates her magic to Lily by blowing into an origami paper house; with Scout's breath, the inside of the house begins to glow. As soon as her parents realized that she was different, Scout was sent to expensive boarding schools all around the country because her parents were too freaked out to deal with her.
