Chapters 7 & 8 Summary

As soon as Scout returns from class, Lily tells her about the note. Scout blanches and demands to know who followed Lily that night, but Lily has no idea. Scout also seems surprised that Foley took a particular interest in Lily because she never has with new students in the past. Lily tells her about Foley's insistence that she knows Lily's parents, even though she doesn't seem to know anything about them, which also piques Scout's interest. A few moments later, Leslie, the strange fourth suitemate, shows up and says that she's the one who delivered the note. She says she's bored at school and wants "in" on whatever exciting thing is happening. Even though Scout promises to keep Leslie abreast of their adventures she, obviously, does not.
