Denying the draki

Jacinda's bond with the draki is never fully explained but it seems to be something of an alter-ego in some respects. Jacinda loves to fly and that's a big part of the draki, but not the only part. Likewise, the fact that she's a fire breather is an important part of the draki, but again, not the only aspect. Jacinda's mother has chosen to deny her draki and it has apparently shriveled and died from disuse. Jacinda believes her mother chose this route after it became apparent that Tamra wasn't going to manifest. Jacinda refers once to the growing number of youngsters who don't manifest but Tamra is the only one mentioned. It's not clear whether these youngsters have purposely chosen not to manifest, thereby denying their draki.
