Chapters 27 through 29 Summary
In Chapter twenty-seven, Jacinda awakes the next morning to the smells of breakfast and discovers Will in the kitchen, cooking. They spend the day together. Jacinda knows Mrs. Hennessey probably won't tell about Will's visits and is amazed that she and the woman have forged a tenuous friendship.
In Chapter twenty-eight, Cassian arrives one day and Jacinda's cold reception makes him aware that she knows about the wing clipping. He promises he can stop the punishment if she returns with him. Cassian says Jacinda is important to him and says he'll die before he allows her to be hurt. Jacinda realizes she no longer wants to return to the pride.
