Summary
Margaret is back at home after her trip to Chicago, where she finally had sex with James. Thomas asks her if she had a good trip and if she saw James, and Margaret quickly replies yes and attempts to bury her thoughts in menial household chores and happy family memories. She remembers trying to stop any potential affair back on September 11, 2016. She knew of their mutual attraction and called James to inform him that their relationship had to end before anything actually took place. This upset James enough that he took a train to Maggie in New York City in an effort to convince her otherwise. By the end of the day, they agree that it’s best if they no longer contact one another.
