Summary

In Chapter 8: "Dissonance," Yamaye and Irving watch a police helicopter circle the neighborhood. Yamaye has not heard from Asase for two days, and Eustace remains at the hospital in critical condition. Irving goes to meet with Hezekiah, Asase’s father, and returns an hour later to inform Yamaye that apparently Asase stabbed Eustace. He tells her to stay away from Asase’s family, warning that there will be “retribution now” (94) Three days later, Yamaye learns from the newspaper that Asase was found hiding in the Crypt. Yamaye suspects that Lego must have helped her, but the newspaper has no information about him.
