Chapters 4-7 Summary

Chapter 4. Michael works for a week, repairing and cleaning the Templeton stables to prepare for his own horses. The stables have not been used since Peter forced Laura to sell their own horses years ago. Shortly after he transfers his horses to the stalls, Michael receives a visit from Laura's daughters, Ali and Kayla. Kayla quickly wins Michael's heart with her openness and her quick affection for each of the horses. Ali holds back, clearly unsure whether she can trust Michael or not. However, both girls fall deeply in love with the horses, especially Max when Michael shows them some of the tricks Max, a Hollywood stunt horse, can do. However, when Max plays dead, Laura panics as she joins them, thinking the horse is really dead. Michael and the girls have a good laugh. Afterward, Laura awkwardly tries to flirt...
