Chapter 22 Summary

Katya returns to the Shrawi residence to get DNA samples of the brothers. She sits briefly with the women and then complains about being tired. Othman's mother insists that she rest a bit in one of their guest rooms. As she is being led to the room, she stops off in the coat room and locks the door behind her. She picks up several hairs off of the men's robes and off of the floor.

When she is leaving the coatroom, Othman and a couple of his brother's come in. Othman does not recognize Katya. Katya feels disappointed that her own fiancée does not recognize her eyes. She watches him with his mother and sees that he is clearly a favorite. Katya knows that if Othman did do something, then his mother would never believe it.
