Summary
Sami, Miranda, and Miranda’s father continue to have a lunch and converse pleasantly. Sami talks more about his work and research, and Miranda half-jokingly remarks that Sami reads so much that he forgets to actually experience life. As Sami prepares to leave, he and Miranda talk privately near the door. Miranda says that she believes that Sami is still searching for happiness. Suddenly, they kiss, and Miranda then says that she wants to come with Sami to the lecture hall. They say goodbye to Miranda’s father and then leave. When they walk outside, Miranda shamefully admits to Sami that she is always somewhat relieved to leave her father’s apartment. Sami and Miranda walk through the streets of Rome, and Sami points out an apartment building where he lived about 30 years prior. Sami points out that he is significantly older than Miranda...
