Chapter Twenty-Two through Twenty-Six Summary

Alex wakes the following morning to a clear October day. Alex arrives at work and is soon visited by Mickey Diamond, a reporter with a reputation for creating quotes and making up details as necessary to make his stories more exciting. Alex has been on the receiving end of this several times though her superiors realize that it's Mickey and don't punish Alex for speaking to him. Mickey already knows about Alex and Jed breaking up and about Jed's potential role in Isabella's murder, and tells Alex that the story is on the verge of making headlines. Alex is immediately angry.

After Mickey leaves, Mike tells Alex that he has an identification for the rapist they've been tracking and that he expects an arrest soon. He tells her to remain available and promises to call as soon...
