Anastasia 'Ana' Steel

Ana is a college student who is about to graduate from WSU when the novel begins. Ana is a shy, reserved girl who prefers the company of her books to the company of people. However, when Ana meets Christian Grey, she immediately feels a connection with him that she has never felt with a man before.
