Summary

This section begins with Amanda continuing her story. Amanda and Nina arrive at Carla’s office and Amanda asks the secretary where Carla is. The secretary says that she will be in soon. When Carla arrives, she does not notice Amanda and Nina at first because she appears busy, but when she eventually spots them, she thinks something is wrong because of the events that transpired the previous day. Amanda calms Carla down, apologizes for the experiences of the previous day, and tells Carla that she and Nina are returning to their home. Carla says that they should at least visit Omar’s stable before they leave, so she tells them that she must drop off some papers before going there.

While Amanda waits, she hears a large thud outside, so Amanda, Carla, and Nina go outside to see what caused it. A...
