Point of View
The point of view of Felix Ever After is first person singular, exclusively through the eyes and feelings of Felix Love, who narrates the novel and is also the protagonist. Felix’s viewpoint is the most significant, as he is the protagonist, and is involved in every event that takes place within the novel. Felix’s first-person perspective provides insight on his emotions after being victim of transphobic bullying, as well as navigating the complex emotions of discovering his gender identity.
Due to Felix’s insecurity and lack of self-worth at the start of the novel, his narration is not always entirely reliable. Felix’s insecurity prevents him from truly understanding many of the other characters, and how they feel about him. In anger, he assumes Declan must be behind the gallery without evidence, and does not see how his revenge plan is an act...
