Felix Love
Felix is the protagonist and narrator of Felix Ever After. He is a 17 year old queer, black, and trans teenager who is scared he will never find love due to all of his marginalized identities. Felix begins the novel with little self-worth, feeling the need to prove himself to others by getting into University and finding a relationship to be worthy of love. Despite Felix’s desire for love, he does not put himself out there either romantically, or through friendships with people other than Ezra due to his fear of rejection. Felix’s fear stems from his abandonment issues after his mother left him when he was 10 years old. Felix drafts emails to his mother he does not send, unable to let go of her throughout the novel.
