Summary
In pages 131 - 197, Grete worries about Lillian during her abortion. She is markedly suffering; all Grete can do is keep the girls out of the apartment. After the second day, Lillian tells her that she thinks it is over.
Reflecting on a photo of a couple, Sam attempts reconciling Lillian and Ken's split. She compares their breakup to Grete and Paul's. As a girl, Sam remembers being jealous of Kaja's relationship with her father. After several months, she and Lillian get their own apartment. She misses living with Kaja. Lillian returns to waitressing.
