Summary
In Chapter 16, "the next time" Mizuki and Kiyoshi met up, they visited the "sweet shop in Kagurazaka" that Mizuki's father once owned and ran (116). It was the first time Mizuki had returned to the province in some time. While exploring, Mizuki talked about her parents. Then they visited "the temple of Arashi" (121). Finally, they went to the sweet shop. The new owner reminded Mizuki "so much of [her] father" (125). They went for coffee afterwards. They talked more about their lives, and their past and present dreams. Kiyoshi talked about his work, and "the string of places" he had established (128). Then Mizuki talked about her time in America. Kiyoshi talked about his family. They shared an understanding about the difficulty of remembering "who you are without people who know you" (131).
