Summary
In Chapter 8, Mizuki often feels self-conscious about her parenting. She tries her best, but struggles to remain organized and calm. When the children were first born, she felt overcome by love. At times she feels "submerged in motherhood for years at a time" (60). Then, she will suddenly see herself in the mirror, and wonder who she is and what she is doing.
In Chapter 9, she tries her best not to let her "children's moods and behavior" affect her (62). Despite her efforts, she finds this difficult.
In Chapter 10, in spite of her frustrations, there are times when Mizuki cannot control her love for Eri and Aki.
One morning, two weeks after Fashion Week, Mizuki shared a pleasant morning with the children. When Tatsu got up, he saw how happy Mizuki was, and said they should "stay together and carry this on" (68). Mizuki felt conflicted...
