Troy Billings
This character is a 17-year-old boy who is over six feet tall and weighs almost 300 pounds. When the story begins, he is contemplating suicide, but he doesn't want people to laugh at him even after his death. He feels that people are always watching him and laughing at him. This character remembers a time when he was younger, when his mother was still alive, and he felt free and accepted by others. Since her death, he went to food for solace and lost his friends and self-esteem. He has respect for his father and cares about his brother even though his brother treats him terribly. He is hard-working, which is demonstrated as he puts in long hours of practice so he can become a drummer. He wants to achieve his own dreams, but not at the expense of others.
