In Chapter 58, as Troy practices, he realizes that it's a lot of hard work. It's very different from the image he had previously had about being in a band. In his dreams, becoming a member of the band always meant fun. Now he realizes that it's a lot of hard work.

In Chapter 59, the gig is this weekend, and Troy isn't sure he's going to make it. Curt is getting angry with him for not whaling on the drums. It's just not in Troy's personality to lash out.

In Chapter 60, the closer they get to the gig, the more convinced Troy is that he made a huge mistake. He doesn't look the part, and he doesn't feel up to it.
