Summary and Analysis For Chapters 43-57 Summary
In Chapter 43, as the music surrounds him, Troy realizes that nobody is looking at him. Not only is he not an outcast, but he is one of the elite. He is the guy who knows the band. He moves his body and enjoys letting himself loose. The energy in the place is amazing, and the band builds the energy one song after another. Troy thinks it can't get any better, then they introduce Curt. The guitar wails, and a Curt Troy is not familiar with plays on stage. He pulses with energy, and the crowd feeds off of him. He plays with a raw emotion that speaks to the crowd. Troy feels as if Curt is singing about Troy's own life.
