Summary

Maya's father asks if she would like to see their mother at "the center" during Family Weekend on that Saturday (309). Lauren will go, but Maya does not say that she will go. Lauren asks Maya what she will do instead, but Maya keeps it secret that she is going to drive three hours away to see if she could find her mother. When Lauren asks if she is angry at their mother, Maya says yes, that she picked wine over them, and now they are "cleaning up her mess" (312).
