Summary
As Newt and Jacob travel through New York on their way to Central Park, conversation reveals that Newt did not actively serve in the recent world war: he was too busy working with Ukrainian dragons. Conversation also reveals that Jacob, on the other hand, did serve in the war, and for what he believes was too long a time: he has not saved enough money to serve as collateral for the loan he wants to build his bakery. He adds that he is working in a canning factory, where both the work and the idea of eating preserved food is killing him. That, he says, is why he wants to open a bakery: to make food that will make people happy. Meanwhile, he and Newt discover the niffler, which has found its way into a jewelry shop. Newt impulsively bursts into the shop...
